+This library extract culminates a basic set of parameters for writers in the Starship Republic cooperative writing campaign to use as a common frame of reference for defining story material in the USS Republic universe.  These parameters are by no means exhaustive nor expected to cover every circumstance in which a writer may need scene definition or background material to complete a story.  In the cases where these parameters are not able to adequately cover needed conditions or settings in the Star Trek universe, it is expected that the writer will improvise, or access other acceptable background material sources to maintain Star Trek canon.  The following are accepted sources that have been found useful to help fill information gaps that this library extract does not cover:
